The sixth American Girl doll to be released was Josefina. She was introduced in the fall of 1997 and represented the time period when New Mexico was under Mexican Rule.
Lifestyle and Personality
Josefina grew up on a ranch near Santa Fe, New Mexico along with her three older sisters and father. She lost her mother shortly before her story began. Because of her recent loss and her mother not being there to guide her, she often feels lost and unsure. Josefina tends to be a very shy person around strangers, but comes to life when with her family and close friends. She enjoys music greatly and learns to play the piano. She is described as both a hopeful and caring person.
About The Doll
The doll Josefina comes dressed in a white camisa, maroon skirt, a brown sash, and a blue hair ribbon. Her accessories include a rebozo, pendant necklace, and a leather pouch for her waist. Inside her pouch a handkerchief and coin can be found. In addition to her clothes and accessories, Josefina has non-removable gold earring and holds a small bunch of yellow primroses.
