The American Girl doll, Addy Walker, was released in 1993. She was the fifth historical doll that was released. Before her release Samantha, Kirsten, Molly, and Felicity were the only other dolls available.
Personality and Life
Addy was considered to be a very loving and brave person. At the beginning of her book series, she was devastatingly separated from her family. Before the end of her book series, her family is brought back together again. Addy is a very smart child and quickly picks up the ability to read and write shortly after beginning school. At the beginning of her story, Addy is 9 years of age and the story ends when she is 11.
The Doll
The Addy doll comes dressed in a pink dress with white stripes, black stockings, black shoes, and her hair tied in a blue ribbon. The doll has gold earring in her ears that cannot be removed. This outfit is considered to be her “Meet” outfit. Among her “Meet” accessories are a straw bonnet, a shell necklace, a water gourd, a kerchief and a half-dime.
Products
Along with the Addy doll, there were six books that were released as well. Along with each of the books, a corresponding outfit was available for purchase as well. These outfits matched the outfit that Addy wears on the cover. The books in order were:

In addition to her books, Addy’s story was brought to life in a live action play. The play first ran in April 2007 and ended in June 2007.
